1 Download the App

  • Search for “Playcar Car Sharing” on App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  • Enable geolocation: you’ll find parking spots and available vehicles more easily.

2 Register in 5 Minutes

  1. Have ready: valid driver’s license, ID document and a selfie for verification.
  2. Add a payment method (credit, debit or prepaid card). Usually a micro-transaction (€1) is made for verification.
  3. Wait for document validation (from a few hours up to 48 hours, depending on workload).

Insider tip

  • Need to let a colleague or family member drive? Add it to your profile in advance: save time when booking.

3 Book the Vehicle

  1. Open the app and select the vehicle type (citycar, van, etc.).
  2. Choose the Playcar parking spot/bay from which to pick up the car.
  3. Set pickup and return date and time.
  4. Confirm: you’ll receive the booking with all details (license plate, address, times).

Note: You can modify or cancel the booking within the terms indicated in the app without penalties (check time limits).

4 Pickup and Unlock

  • Reach the indicated parking spot/bay at pickup time.
  • Open the app → select the current trip → Unlock vehicle and enter the PIN.
  • Check for any pre-existing damage and report it immediately through the “Report a problem” section to avoid charges.

5 During the Trip

  • Round Trip (fuel included): you can use the fuel card (usually Q8) only if the level drops below 25% fuel (threshold displayed in app). It’s active exclusively in this mode.
  • Rental (fuel excluded): the card is inactive; you refuel and return the vehicle with the same starting level.
  • In case of breakdowns/accidents contact us immediately at customer service: +390707334041 and send an email to supporto@playcar.net.
  • You can park wherever you want, respecting the Highway Code and service conditions.

6 Parking and Return

  1. Return the car to the same parking spot/bay from which you picked it up (Round Trip / Rental).
  2. If the spot is occupied, use the app to make a report when your booking is active (support link):
    1. In Round trip mode go to “Report occupied parking” and park in the available blue or white parking near the Playcar bay;
    2. in Rental mode go to “My Reports“.
  3. Check that you haven’t left any personal items.
  4. Close the vehicle, check doors and windows.
  5. Press End in the app: you’ll immediately receive the cost summary.

Warning:

  • ZTL zones are accessible but you cannot leave the vehicle parked.
  • Don’t leave the car in private/multi-story parking unless provided: you might not be able to end the trip or incur penalties.
  • Don’t use parking spots marked “Residents”.

MONEY-SAVING TIPS: Take advantage of daily caps and seasonal promos: often after exceeding an hourly threshold, the daily rate is automatically activated. Plan your km usage: if you know you’ll drive many kilometers, consider Rental mode with included allowances.
